Yu is a final year EngD student in Formulation Engineering CDT at the University of Birmingham.

Her research aims at improving performances of natural-based hair conditioning formulations on damaged hair by investigating hair property changes due to damage and oil lubrication mechanisms during combing.

She was in charge of events planning and preparation as Event Rep in STLE Student Chapter committee last year, this year she delightedly handed it over to Ben and will be the vice chair coordinating activities, development, and communication.
