Tugce started her journey with a Bachelor’s degree in Science, majoring in Chemical Engineering at Istanbul University. After some industrial experience including P&G, she continued her academic career by completing a Joint European Master’s Degree in Tribology of Surfaces and Interfaces with a thesis in self-lubricating coatings. She further completed her PhD in Biological and Chemical Engineering from the University of Minho as a Marie-Curie ITN Fellow. During her academic PhD journey, she delved into the development of material surfaces designed to prevent bacterial adhesion, particularly in medical devices, diagnostic tools, and hospital environments.
Since joining our group, Tugce has been collaborating with P&G while actively engaging in multiple projects. Her research focuses on topics such as surface interfacial chemistry, soft matter, tribology, formulation design, antifouling, antimicrobial, and film-forming properties.
